Ketorol Indications
Ketorol is a highly potent NSAID medicine (an analgesic). However, the administration of such a medicine is known to carry many risks; patients who have been treated with Ketorol have developed severe adverse clinical manifestations. Before you start using Ketorol, you should discuss with your physician the risks and benefits that this therapy involves.
Being one of the most effective NSAID analgesics on the market, Ketorol is widely employed in the therapy of individuals who suffer from moderate to severe pain (of various causes). However, a treatment trial with Ketorol may also be employed for other clinical purposes, which have not been mentioned in this guide. For further information, contact your PD.
Ketorol Contraindications
A prolonged therapy with this NSAID is known to increase the patient's risks of developing life threatening medical conditions (stroke, heart attack, circulation disorders, and so on). The harmful effects of Ketorol are known to increase if the individual is following a long term therapy with Ketorol. Patients who are about to undergo bypass surgery or who have recently undergone this medical procedure should not be allowed to start using Ketorol (Ketorol).
Ketorol Intake Guidelines
All individuals must keep in mind that they must not use their doses of Ketorol to get rid of unpleasant (but minor) aches or pains. In order to find out more about the effects of this medication, you should carefully study the drug's leaflet. You should ask your personal physician for further explanations, in case you need any.
Ketorol may be administered either in its oral form (Ketorol tablets) or in its injectable form (in such cases the patient receives an intravenous or intramuscular injection of Ketorol). Most patients who follow a therapy with the injectable form of this NSAID (Ketorol) are administered their doses of Ketorol in a specialized, well equipped medical centre, by an authorized health care provider.
Ketorol Dosage
The proper dose of Ketorol (Ketorol) that is indicated to a certain individual depends on the patient's age, sex, general health condition, but also on the type of medicine that the individual has been indicated. Adult patients who are using Ketorol tablets are generally indicated (as an initial dosage schedule) a therapy with 2 tablets of Ketorol which should be administered a few times per day. Children older than 16 may use a single dose (tablet / injection) of Ketorol - but only in extreme cases (after an important surgical procedure). Elderly individuals or patients who are suffering from kidney medical conditions should be indicated lower doses of Ketorol (Ketorol). The same advice is for patients who weigh less than 110 pounds.
Ketorol Overdose
As Ketorol is commonly administered by an authorized health care provider in a specialized medical setting, over-doses of this clinical remedy are highly uncommon. However, some patients have decided that they want to administer their doses of Ketorol themselves, in a familiar location (at home). In such cases, over-dosage with this NSAID is possible if the patient has not fully understood the adequate administration procedure. The most common clinical manifestations that may arise due to Ketorol over-dosage include: drowsiness, stomach pain, vomiting, nausea, shallow breathing, coughing up blood, fainting, and even coma.
Ketorol Missed Dose
As most patients employ Ketorol (Ketorol) as an effective remedy whenever they experience pain, they are not on a regular therapy schedule. Furthermore, most individuals receive their doses of this clinical remedy in a hospital setting, which makes it unlikely for them to miss any doses of this NSAID.
However, some individuals have been indicated regular doses of Ketorol, and a number of them have chosen to be administered their injections at home. In case a missed dose of Ketorol disturbs your regular therapy with Ketorol, it is recommended to alert your personal physician at once. The use of extra doses of this clinical remedy (Ketorol) is not advisable.
Ketorol Side Effects
Various patients who were undergoing prolonged therapies with Ketorol developed several unpleasant clinical manifestations. It was proven that their symptoms were directly linked to their intake of Ketorol. The most severe signs that may arise due to a therapy with this product include: clinical manifestations of an allergic reaction, tarry, bloody stools, weakness, slurred speech, vision problems, rapid weight gain, sore throat, loss of appetite, stomach pain, and so on. Not all patients who use Ketorol on a regular basis are bound to develop these clinical symptoms; in fact, the ones listed above are the rarest of all. However, a therapy with Ketorol can also trigger more common, milder symptoms: constipation, vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach, headache, nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, sweating, and so on.
Ketorol Interactions
Although this NSAID analgesic rarely fails to achieve its purpose, the beneficial results of a therapy with Ketorol may be severely affected by the intake of other medical products. The ingredients of medications such as Coumadin, Eskalith, Lithobid, Rheumatrex, Trexall, Carbatrol, Tegretol, Prinivil, Zestril, Dilantin, Lexapro, Zoloft, Sarafem, Prozac, Paxil, Celexa, and so on, may severely and harmfully interact with your therapy with Ketorol. For a more complete list of the medicines that should not be taken in during your therapy with this analgesic, and for further details regarding this subject, contact your personal health care provider.
