Becoride Indications
Becoride is an aqueous nasal spray or water based nasal spray containing corticosteroid beclomethasone dipropionate B.P. at 50 mcg.
Becoride is indicated for the treatment of Allergic rhinitis including seasonal occurrences of these disorders.
Becoride may also be indicated for the treatment of symptoms of hay fever including other related conditions.
Becoride works by reducing the swelling and irritation of the inner linings of the nose and to relieve the symptoms of blocked nose, runny nose, itchy nose and frequent sneezing.
Becoride Contraindications
Never use Becoride if you have known allergies to beclomethasone or the other components of Becoride.
Your doctor should be informed if you have had any of the following conditions:
- Currently taking steroids by mouth or by inhalation;
- Have an infection on nose;
- Have been a victim of frequent nose bleeds;
- Have been advised to cease a medicine for hay fever;
- Have had nasal surgery, nasal trauma or nasal ulcers;
- If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding;
Never share your Becoride nasal spray with anyone even if you share the same symptoms.
Clean the nasal applicator of your Becoride nasal spray once in a while for it to deliver the proper amounts of nasal spray that you need.
Becoride should not be indicated for patients under 12 years of age unless otherwise indicated by a doctor.
Do not use Becoride for more than six months unless otherwise advised by your doctor.
Becoride Intake Guidelines
Becoride comes in a nasal spray bottle. To properly use Becoride, follow the instructions below:
- Blow you nose to clear it of any impurities, tilt your head slightly forward and insert the applicator into the nostrils;
- Breathe inwards gently into your nose and breathe out through your mouth to ensure that the medicine is inhaled and retained;
- Prime the pump by pressing the white collar of the bottle firmly. repeat the procedure until a fine spray is produced;
- Pump the white collar of the bottle to generate the number of sprays indicated;
- Remove the dust cap from the nasal applicator;
- Repeat the procedure as needed;
- Shake the bottle first before attempting to use Becoride;
Becoride Dosage
For patients who are 12 years old and above, the ideal dosage is 1-2 sprays on each nostril twice a day, One in the morning and one before bedtime.
The use of 400mcg or more of Becoride is strictly prohibited.
Always follow your doctor's instructions for the proper dosage or amounts of Becoride to be indicated.
Becoride Overdose
Becoride should not be taken for more than the dosage your doctor indicated for use.
If overdose of Becoride is suspected, immediately call a poison emergency rescue unit or the National Poison Information Centre for advice.
Becoride Missed Dose
If you happen to miss a dose of Becoride, entirely skip that dose and proceed to your nest normal dose. Do not do double doses of Becoride as it may warrant unwanted side effects.
Becoride Side Effects
Taking Becoride may not cause drowsiness however some other side effects may occur after using Becoride nasal spray. Among these side effects are:
- Discolored nasal discharge;
- Dry and irritated nose and throat;
- Headache;
- Nosebleed;
- Red or misty vision;
If you have experienced any of the following side effects, call your doctor immediately and ask for advice.
A most common side effect of using Becoride Nasal Spray is sneezing. Sneezing is an acceptable side effect provided that it does not worsen and become bothersome.
Allergic reactions to Becoride may also occur such as:
- Fainting;
- Hives;
- Itchiness;
- Swelling of lips and mouth;
- Wheezing;
